Applicant General Requirements:


  • Availability, the operation is a 7 days a week schedule all employees must be willing to work all seven days if needed. Days off will rotate.
  • Great working attitude, self-driven to serve guests’ needs and meet the company objectives. Good problem solving skills. Finding Work when the customer traffic is slow is very important to keep the store and hotel in working order.
  • Must be honest and trustworthy to work with money and merchandise. Cameras are used to monitor activities.
  • Computer skills, Microsoft software proficient using PC’s, cash register, basic math skills, and credit card processing machines. Where Required.
  • Good organization and cleaning skills, working with vacuums, and other cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Capable of lifting and managing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of regularly navigating stairs, with cleaning supplies and equipment, without assistance.
  • English communication skills. Other language skills are appreciated.
  • Must work well with other team members and demonstrate teamwork.
  • The work-site is a tobacco, alcohol, and drug free work place.


Pay:
Starting wages will be $9.00 an hour with opportunity to earn more through display of skills and work ethic. Overtime may be required from time to time. Employees may work other jobs as long as there is not a conflict of interest. Prior approval needs to be discussed and agreed upon with Company Management.

Housing:
We have onsite housing available. Communal living cabin, trailers, and other rooms are available. The Madison will have a rental agreement that the tenants must agree to and abide by while living in the employee housing. Persons, Guests and Roommates are expected to maintain cleanliness and general condition as to not damage the facilities. The rent is payroll deducted at a rate of $5 per day, working or not.
The Madison work schedule must be the priority/majority of hours worked to maintain the housing arrangement.
Tenants must be employed by the Madison to be eligible for housing.

Please note: If any employee doesn’t meet work expectations of supervisors, management reserves the right dismiss the employee at will, losing the housing arrangement in turn. This is not a guarantee of employment, we are an "At Will Company" following all of the Equal Rights to employment as determined by the State of Montana.

All employees are responsible to make their own travel and transportation arrangements.

Accommodations, Housekeeping 4 positions – Hours are typically 9:30am to 2:30pm

  • Work ethic and integrity with the guest’s personal property and Madison’s assets are of the utmost importance. Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Learn the standards for cleaning the Hotel and Motel rooms and maintenance of all common areas inside and outside to meet the Guests expectations and the health department’s standards.
  • Provide a written and verbal report of rooms cleaned, damage, theft, and found articles to supervisor.
  • Inspect Rooms and linens for damage, blood stains, and other stains, pre-treating of the stains.
  • Frequent lifting mattresses moving of the bed while, bed making, and changing of the linens.
  • Replenish supplies such as Towels, drinking glasses, and provided bathroom items.
  • Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies. Sweep/scrub, floors, using tools like brushes, sponges, brooms, and mops.
  • Empty wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Clean toilets, sinks and showers/tubs using brushes and cleaning cloths. Wearing proper safety gloves.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Familiarity with cleaning products, chemicals and equipment as well as cleaning techniques is helpful.
  • Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 30 lbs) while navigating stairs or pushing of supply carts and equipment.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling. Working inside and outside in all conditions.
  • Be able to work independently and follow instructions in English verbally and written regarding priorities and tasks.
  • Be willing and knowledgeable for giving guests accurate helpful information to enjoy Yellowstone Park.
  • Work as a team to accomplish the work needed daily and other duties as assigned.

Retail Sales Associate 4-6 positions – 7 hour shifts with a lunch, 5-6 days per week. Store hours are during 9:00am to 10pm open hours.

  • Customer Interaction, assist them by answering questions, locating items, suggestive selling practices. Bagging and packaging items for reasonable travel conditions.
  • Manage inventory by accurately recording purchases on computer-based retail “point of sales” computer system (POS).
  • Be highly organized, restock product as necessary, and make sure all displays are neat and clean. Help in creating attractive displays. Receive new items, price mark them and put them on display.
  • Keeping the salesroom clean, this includes sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal. Maintain a safe and clean storage area.
  • Be accurate in tendering cash and returning change, calling out amount tendered in ‘Dollars and Cents”. Count back change from amount due to amount tendered. Check for counterfeit, bills and Credit Cards.
  • Alerts manager or police to theft, counterfeit, or guest concerns.
  • Be capable of navigating stairs with products, be capable of occasionally lifting boxes up to 40 pounds. Working inside and outside in all conditions.
  • Occasional room cleaning as needed.
  • Maintains a good teamwork with Managers and Co-workers. Working in Hotel registration may occasionally be required.
  • Give accurate helpful information to Yellowstone Park Visitors. Other Duties as assigned. Provide excellent guest service, share knowledge of the greater Yellowstone area and the surrounding area attractions.

Hotel Registration 2-3 positions – 7 hour shifts with a lunch, 5-6 days per week. Hours are during 8:00am to 10:30pm open hours.


  • Maintain a professional appearance and a cordial attitude towards all guests and staff members.
  • Able to handle the stress of high customer demand in a hospitality environment.
  • People oriented and able to work independently or with others as needed. Being a problem solver, elevating to the Manager only when necessary.
  • Being able to easily and frequently change from one activity to another not allowing the distraction to affect your attention to details.
  • Use good judgment in effectively providing services personally or to know when to immediately refer requests to the appropriate manager.
  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  1. Guest check-in, guest check-out, answering guest and staff questions, running reports as required and reports of guest satisfaction. Using Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, emails etc. along with the Globekey Reservations system. (Globekey database is on Job Training)
  2. Interact with owners, guests, and team members regarding inquiries, complaints, comments and suggestions with appropriate problem solving and service recovery actions as to assure a successful outcome. Help to daily organize the housekeeping efforts.
  3. Analyze and assure that all reservations and other requests are accommodated to the highest efficiency levels possible.
  4. Provide excellent guest service, share knowledge of the Greater Yellowstone area and the surrounding area attractions connecting them with tour guides, general directions, and basic timelines of travel.
  • Assist with Team/Staff items as requested. Gift shop sales and assistance is required to cover lunches and peak needs. Occasional Room Cleaning as needed.
  • Basic office skills, including basic math to figure costs, and make change, proper cash handling, filing procedures and telephone skills.
  • Working in the gift shop will be required to cover lunches, in slow times and as needed.
  • Keeping the work areas clean, this includes sweeping, toilet cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal. Working inside and outside in all conditions.

Accommodations Laundry 1 position –  Hours are typically 2:00pm to 6:30pm as needed this position is subject to work load.

  • Work ethic and integrity with the guest’s personal property and Madison’s assets are of the utmost importance. Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Provide clean correctly folded linens by inspecting linens for damage, hand scrubbing stains as needed. Stocking of carts and storage locations.
  • Delivering Bedding and Roll-away beds as needed.
  • Quality assessment of the cleaning of the Hotel and Motel rooms and all of the common areas inside and outside to meet the Guests expectations and the health department’s standards.
  • Provide an accurate written and verbal report of room status.
  • Operate Washing Machines and Dryers following the manufacturer’s guidelines. Provide clean correctly folded linens.
  • Assist in ordering the proper amounts of product to meet the min/max from the supplier such as cleaning supplies, chemicals and provided room amenities. Notify the manager for linen orders.
  • General vacuum maintenance and general condition of cleaning tools.
  • Empty Outside wastebaskets, ash trays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Working inside and outside in all conditions.
  • Service toilets, sinks and showers/tubs as necessary to insure proper operation.
  • Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 50lbs) while navigating stairs or pushing of supply carts and equipment etc..
  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling. Working inside and outside conditions.
  • Be able to work independently and follow instructions in English verbally and written regarding priorities and tasks.
