Meet the Innkeepers
Garrett, was pursuing a career in the manufacturing world working for a world class company, Lifetime Products, in Clearfield UT. He worked for them for nearly 25 years, as a Purchasing Manager and Operations Manager of the Plastics’ Division helping to start this from scratch, learning the blow molding and injection molding processes. Garrett also runs a highly successful business Garrett’s Good Stuff in Utah and Montana, doing private party Dutch Oven Catering. Many of his customers were greatly saddened to have him move away for the summers. (He still does this his spare time as time allows for companies and family gatherings.)
Jan worked in the Mortgage Lending Industry for about 30 years as a Loan Processor and Team Lead. She worked for some great Utah Companies like Richards Woodbury Mortgage, Republic Mortgage and Academy Mortgage. When she's able to, she helps Garrett with his catering business.
In 2012 Garrett’s mother, Janet, and Aunt, Linda, reached a conclusion that they were ready to sell the business and retire. Garrett and Jan made an offer to buy the business. Garrett retired from Lifetime and moved to West Yellowstone during the summer in May 2013, to work in the hotel and the shop to learn as much as he could. Financing was achieved through Celtic Bank and the purchased finalized at the end of April 2014.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our first years of operating this business and now owning it has allowed us to make many decisions to greatly improve our guests' experience when they visit West Yellowstone. Returning guests state that the improvements are appropriate, noticeable and increase their satisfaction for their spend value. Hobbies in our spare time range from fishing, hunting, photography, driving RZRs in the back roads and sand dunes.
