Applicant General Requirements:

  • Availability, the operation is a 7 days a week operation schedules are usually 6 days (all employees must be willing to work all seven days if needed). Days off will rotate. 
  • No more than two days off in a row, May to October. The season is short and no Vacations are available during our season because we serve Vacationers.
  • Great working attitude, self-driven to serve guests' needs and meet the company objectives. Good problem solving skills. Finding Work when the customer traffic is slow is very important to keep the store and hotel in clean working order.
  • Must be honest and trustworthy to work with money, tips and merchandise. Cameras are used to monitor quality and work and guest activities.
  • Employees may work other jobs as long as there is not a conflict of interest and keeping the Madison schedule the priority schedule. Prior written approval needs to be discussed and agreed upon, with Madison Legacy, Corp. Management.
  • Computer skills, Microsoft software proficient using PC's, cash register, basic math skills, and credit card processing machines. Where Required.
  • Good organization and job focus while cleaning, cleaning tool skills, working with vacuums, and other cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Capable of lifting and managing up to 50 pounds, up stairs.
  • Capable of regularly navigating stairs, with cleaning supplies and equipment, without assistance.
  • English communication skills required. Other language skills are appreciated.
  • Work ethic and integrity with the guest's personal property and Madison's assets are of the utmost importance. Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Must work well with other team members and demonstrate teamwork.
  • The work-site is a tobacco, alcohol, and drug free workplace. Smoking in designated zones only.



Pay:

Starting wages commonly start at $15 per hour, well above Montana's minimum wage.
Overtime may be required from time to time.  Each job and your prior experience may give us further consideration to pay you for your skills.

Subsidized Housing:

Tenants
must be employed by the Madison as your Primary  Job, to be eligible for housing.
We have onsite subsidized housing available $300 per person per calendar Month $10 per day. NO PESTS, NOPets and no pets.

1 Dorm style living cabin, for 6. 
4 trailers and other rooms are available. Up to 2 people in each trailer
1 private apartment which can have 2 people

The terms of the housing agreement must be agreed to and abided by while living in the employee housing. Persons, Guests and Roommates are expected to maintain cleanliness and general condition as to not damage the facilities. The rent is payroll deducted at a rate of $300 per person, per month, $150 per person, per pay check.
The Madison work schedule must be the priority/majority of hours worked to maintain the housing arrangement. Failure to be employed results in immediate removal from subsidized housing. No smoking, burning anything, candles, incents of anything or vaping in the housing.  Drinking is not permitted on work premises, due to the nature of being onsite.  Underage drinking will be reported to the proper authorities and dealt with. 

If any employee doesn't meet work expectations of supervisors, management reserves the right dismiss the employee at will, losing the housing arrangement in turn. This is not a guarantee of employment, we are an "At Will Company" following all of the Equal Rights to employment as determined by the State of Montana. The training period is 45 days minimum.

All employees are responsible for their own travel and transportation arrangements to get here and home at the end of the work season.

All Work positions and hours are SEASONAL in nature and the needs vary with the Tourism of Yellowstone Park, Hours may vary depending on the actual or anticipated demand.

Accommodations, Housekeeping – Hours are typically 9:00am to 2:30pm 
  • Learn the standards for cleaning the Hotel and Motel rooms and maintenance of all common areas inside and outside to meet the Guests expectations and the health department's standards.
  • Provide a written on your smart phone or device and verbal reports
  • Inspect Rooms and linens for damage, pre-treating of the stains.
  • Bed making, and changing of the linens.
  • Replenish supplies 
  • Vacuum carpets
  • Sweep/scrub floors
  • Empty wastebaskets
  • Clean toilets, sinks and showers/tubs
  • Dust and polish furniture
  • Use of cleaning products, chemicals and equipment
  • Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 40 lbs) while navigating stairs or pushing of supply carts and equipment.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling. Working inside and outside in all weather conditions.
  • Be able to work independently and follow instructions in English verbally and written regarding priorities and tasks.
  • Be knowledgeable for providing guests accurate helpful information to enjoy Yellowstone Park.
  • Work as a team to accomplish the work needed daily and other duties as assigned.
Retail Sales Associate -6 to 7 hour shifts with a lunch, 6 days per week. Store hours are during 8:00am to 10pm open hours. (hours vary in the early and late season)

  • Customer Interaction, assist them by answering questions, locating items, suggestive selling practices. Bagging and packaging items for reasonable travel conditions. Accurately recording "point of sales" computer system (POS) transactions.
  • Folding items, restocking items.
  • Help in creating attractive displays. Keeping the salesroom and storage rooms clean
  • Be accurate in tendering cash and returning change, calling out amount tendered in ‘USA Dollars and Cents". Count back change from amount due to amount tendered. Check for counterfeit bills and Credit Cards. Alerts manager or police to theft, counterfeit, or guest concerns.
  • Be capable of navigating stairs with products, be capable of occasionally lifting boxes up to 50 pounds. Working inside and outside in all weather conditions.
  • Maintains a good teamwork environment with Managers and Co-workers. Working in Hotel registration may occasionally be required.
  • Provide accurate helpful information to Yellowstone Park Visitors. 
  • Other duties as assigned. Occasional room cleaning as needed.
Hotel Registration - 6 to 7 hour shifts with a lunch, 6 days per week schedule. Registration desk hours are typically 8:00am to 10:30pm every day. 

  • Maintain a professional appearance and a cordial attitude towards all guests and staff members.
  • Able to handle the stress of high customer demand in a hospitality environment.
  • Work independently or with others being a problem solver, elevating to the Manager when necessary.
  • Being able to easily and frequently change from one activity to another not allowing the distraction to affect your attention to details.
  • Use good judgment and effectively providing services or to know when to immediately refer requests to the appropriate manager.
  • Duties include but are not limited to:
    1. Guest check-in, guest check-out, answering guest and staff questions, running reports as required and reports of guest satisfaction. Using Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, emails etc. along with the ResNexus system. 
    2. Interact with manager, guests, and team members regarding inquiries, complaints, comments and suggestions with appropriate problem solving and service recovery actions as to assure a successful outcome. Help to organize the daily housekeeping efforts. 
    3. Analyze and assure that all reservations and other requests are accommodated to the highest efficiency levels possible.
    4. Provide knowledge of the Greater Yellowstone area and the surrounding area attractions connecting them with tour guides, general directions, and basic timelines of travel. 
  • Assist with Team/Staff items as requested. Gift shop sales and assistance is required to cover lunches and peak needs.  Room Cleaning as needed, shoulder season daily.
  • Basic office skills, including basic math to confirm charges, and make change, proper cash handling, filing procedures and telephone skills.
  • Working in the gift shop will be required to cover lunches, in slow times and as needed.
  • Keeping the work areas clean, this includes sweeping, toilet cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal. Working inside and outside in all conditions.
Gift Shop Lead: 
6 to 7 hour shifts with a lunch, 6 days per week schedule. 
  • Input inventory into the system and managing inventory
